Keithi Kilonzo The daughter of the former Makueni Senator Mr. Mutula Kilonzo, was on Monday the 8th ruled out of Makueni Senate by elections which could see her succeed her late father, by Independent electro and boundaries commission in Nairobi.
Kethi who had been nominated as a Wiper party candidate, which is a part of the second biggest coalition(coalition for reforms and democracy) had these allegations first pulled to her by the rival coalition(the national alliance)
In a ruling by the IEBC’s nomination dispute resolution committee, revoked Kethi’s nomination and ordered investigations on how she acquired her registration acknowledgement slip, which they said was amongst the five slips which according to the IEBC’s director in-charge of the registration Immaculate Kasait while testifying before the committee said they were stolen from a booklet used to register the former president Mr. Mwai Kibaki.
The committee at the same time upheld the nomination of Jubilee candidate Mr. Philip Kaloki by dismissing that he was a member of more than one party.
Despite Kethi putting up a very spirited fight before the committee, they ruled her out and stuck to the point that her acknowledgement slip was attained wrongly.
By these ruling, IEBC has put an end to Kethi’s dream of succeeding her father at a young age, but will it be the end to her just started political career? Or could it be the beginning of a serious political journey for her?
